The changes are fairly minor and are mainly concentrated at the front and rear fascias. A significant update which has been making headlines in the automotive scene are the new suite of three brand new engines under its hood. The only carryover engine set to be offered is the hybrid engine, which is a good thing given its impressive fuel economy ratings.

The base engine to sport under the hood of the entry-level is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine which is Nissan-built and also a design version of Mercedes-Benz. It is rated at 208 horsepower and 258 lbs. of torque. The RWD system returns as the default drive mode.

Other strengths include tons of standard features, easy egress and ingress, excellent fuel economy ratings from its new engine lineup, and a spacious trunk. Despite the news, the Q50 tends to suffer from a certain level of duality which its rivals don’t. As such, we recommend checking its rivals before ultimately committing.

Some of its competitors include the Audi A4 2017, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the 2017 BMW 3 Series. You can also check out the 2017 Acura TLX.

Despite undergoing several refreshments and even changing its nameplate a while back, the Infiniti Q70 seems to be ageing pretty fast. And while it may seem to be falling from a past glory, the sedan still has something to offer including a long-wheelbase trim that offers popular brands a run for their money with its rock-bottom price.

The Q70L, as the long-wheelbase version is known, adds copious rear legroom amount to about 5.9”. Many people might it an easy alternative to executive, luxury sedans like the BMW 5 Series, but sadly the Q70 misses the mark here as it lacks the basic techs and features to match those of the 5 Series which makes the seatback entertaining and exciting. Basically, the only difference between the Q70 and the other executive sedans in its segment is the space which the Q70 offers unreservedly.

Under the hood, the vehicle comes with a stout engine that cranks out an impressive 330 hp. however, it’s only good on paper as the 3.7L V6 engine doesn’t feel and drive as energetic as a vehicle with such output should.

Others include the crisp, elegant 2017 Audi A6, the 2017 Cadillac CT6, and the well-appointed 2017 BMW 5 Series.

2017 Infiniti QX70 Release Date & Review

2017 Infiniti QX70 Release Date, Review, Price – As much as Infiniti has tried to invigorate their latest offering – 2017 Infiniti QX70, the vehicle is still subpar relative to other vehicles in its segment. As such, we don’t recommend the vehicle to anyone unless you don’t mind its many downsides. Other crossovers in the segment offer much better features and technologies within the same price bracket, so look around before you finally commit. Its date of release should be expected during the 1st Q of 2017, according to speculations from reliable sources.

2017 Infiniti QX70 front view, headlights

The QX70 despite its obvious setbacks is still a nice and stylish vehicle. However, with every passing year, the segment receives newer and more sophisticated vehicles that offer cut-throat competition to existing ones. We like how the QX70 blends sports car features with those of a Sports Utility Vehicle resulting in a nimble yet powerful vehicle.

2017Infiniti QX70 front view, headlights and grille

With its excellent interior finish, sporty driving character, and premium materials, we don’t expect the vehicle to go unnoticed. Although its infotainment system isn’t the latest, we still laud Infiniti efforts in making it one of the easiest to use in the market.

Some of the detriments we found on the 2017 Infiniti QX70 includes a limited cargo and backseat space, a firm ride, restrictive optional packages, a lack of engine choice, a limiting sport-tuned suspension, and a bantamweight towing capacity.

2017 Infiniti QX70 side view, taillights

Alternatives to consider include the BMW X3 2017, Acura MDX for 2017, 2016 Porsche Macan, and the 2017 Mercedes GLE-Coupe. In overall, if style, power, fresh appeal, and technology are atop your list of priorities, you are better off with its alternatives.

Infiniti QX70 – Available Trims

Similar to most Infiniti “Q” models, the 2017 QX70 is available in a single well-equipped trim. A choice of either a rear wheel drive or an AWD is provided.

The center console offers a long list of desirable technology features including an all surround-view camera that gives the driver entire exterior visibility. It is very useful whenever you have tight spaces to fit in like in traffic or when parking.

Engine Specs – 2017 Infiniti QX70

Producing 325 horsepower and 267 lbs. of torque is a V6 3.7L engine which comes beneath the bonnet of the Infiniti QX70 for 2017. The power is routed to the rear wheels via the 7-speed automatic transmission system. You have the option of getting an all-wheel drive but the rear wheel drive is standard.

During our performance test drive of the 2017 QX70, the AWD equipped version was able to saunter from naught to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds. This is impressive in its segment.
