New 2017 Cadillac SRX Release Date, Specs & Info

The new 2017 Cadillac SRX offers us a very smooth and luxurious ride that is powered by a V-6 engine and does include an updated interior setup compared to the last model. As this 2017 version is actually going to carry over a larger part of the setup that we had last time and is mainly going to focus on updating and not changing things too much.

2017 Cadillac SRX exterior, gray color

The Cadillac SRX is considered by GM as one of the more popular crossover SUVs that they have produced and its popularity only shows us how right there were when deciding to introduce this model. It is widely considered as a counterpart of the much acclaimed Escalade model, but it actually has a lot of difference compared to it. First of all it does not pose a truck-based design as the Escalade and also does come with some improved road manners compared to it.

2017 Cadillac SRX exterior, side angle

The 2017 Cadillac SRX is going to offer us a design which was very much expected and does not distract us or goes away too far from its standard formula of designing vehicles. The conventional crossover-SUV shape is still present here and is very much appropriate for the car. There have also been rumors that the model might change dramatically for the future and there is even a possible name change introduced as a possibility. This may account for the stingy update this car has received. Nevertheless, we shall see come release date what the future holds for the Cadillac SRX 2017 and how it might fair against the competition.

2017 Cadillac SRX rear angle, taillights

What the exterior of the 2017 Cadillac SRX brings us is a design which successfully manages to hide the two box crossover SUV shape with lots of added body sculpturing and multiple clever angles and make the car much more modern than you would actually think. It does not seem revolutionary, although it may just fool you that it is.

The model has a chiseled look which greatly separate it from the rival models, and this does not just go for the Escalade but the Audi Q5, Land Rover Evoque, Volvo XC60 and even the Lexus RX models. This one has some vertically positioned headlights with the addition of a brightly chromed grille. The front and rear overhangs are relatively short as the overall shape brings us a bottom line powerful model.

Some exquisite features include the power line that runs the whole course of the trailing edge area and runs through the taillight lenses while at the same time extending the lenses making a more aerodynamic character to the car. Making the lines of the car sleeker is also made by the added thin spoiler to the back which adds the aerodynamics properties even more. But the best part simply has to be the inclusion of the 20-inch wheels which have SRX’s illuminated sill plates and piped lighting.

The best part of the indie of the 2017 Cadillac SRX is the added touchscreen which greatly illuminates the interior setup of the car. There is a great attention paid to the surfaces and although the technology is the prime factor of the design of the car other parts do not have that sort of an attention made to them. The large update that was mad in 2013 and the version of the car which received a large update by adding proximity sensing,  slider controls, large capacitive touchscreen is still here, but has been expanded and built up a bit.

But the coverings also mark a significant highly to this model. The SRX uses hand-cut-and-sewn coverings  which is placed on the instrument panel and combines with some ambient lighting and generally gives us an environment which is rich and also tech-savvy at the same time. This is something that is going to play a large role for the update of the Cadillac SRX 2017 and makes it a better model.

Engine specs

The powertrain for the 2017 Cadillac SRX is the not so quick but good enough V-6 engine. The engine actually enables the car to reach a power level of 308 horsepower but not more than that. People are perhaps expecting to see additional engine options at the release date but it might not happen and this one gets to be the only option that we are looking at. So what we are left with is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that does peak torque at 2,400 rpm, and gives us a relaxed combination, but still does not manage to do much even with the added 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine fits its service but you would not expect to gain so much more from the model now.

2017 Cadillac CTS-V Release Date, News and Rumors

A high performance model of the CTS is now being issued and is dubbed the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V. This is going to be an updated for an already familiar model that made its debut in 2004 with the exact premise of providing us a more performance orientated version of the CTS model. The model was initially aimed to provide some worthy competition to BMW M5 or E63 AMG from Mercedes-Benz.

The first model that was produced started with a Corvette LS6 V-8 which immediately offered an output of over 400 horsepower. The second generation model came back with an  6.2-liter V-8 engine based on LS9 model. This one was able to go well beyond 500 horsepower and gave us an exact total of 556 hp and 551 pound-feet of torque. This is currently the third generation model which is rolling out at its designated release date and brings us more power than the previous ones ever had. This is going to be thanks to the updated technology the engine receives and the updates it is being given.

But a 640-horsepower V-8  engine is not the only thing that the newest  Cadillac CTS-V 2017 offers, it also rebuilds its interior much in the way the 2017 ATS-V has done so as well. The custom features that are inspired by the V-series are immense and provide a much more interesting inside for the car now. The refurbishing are enough to make this CTS-V the most prominent one ever built, but is it enough to beat the immense competition that car is facing, only time will tell. This is going to be already familiar with coming of the release date but you can get all of the information here in the review ahead of time.

The latest 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is going to have a lot of styling elements to its exterior carried over form the 2014 CTS version but it will combine them with some new and prominent ones. The front part of the car only keeps the headlamps unchanged, while a better part of the vehicle has been altered. The car has an extremely menacing look up front and, more importantly, has improved aerodynamic capacities. The grille has a brand-new mesh pattern and is much narrower from before. The thin air dam that we have seen on the regular CTS models is larger here and has the matching honeycomb mesh.

On the side of the vehicle , the side intakes have been changed and the apron has a  carbon-fiber splitter. The hood is also made from  carbon-fiber which besides a new design has an air-extracting vent that helps reduce lift and keeps the hot air out of the engine. The Cadillac CTS-V 2017 is lower when viewed on the side as it has a  track-optimized suspension. The back fo the car carries the least amount of changes, with a  new trunklid spoiler and a redesigned bumper which has some  V-series elements added. A diffuser-like piece with round quad pipes replaces the old exhaust tip system that was used. All of this is going to be exclusively presented once the release date comes.

The performance and the exterior do not suggest how the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V looks on the inside. The interior of the car is as luxurious as it gets. The car has upgraded its convenience specs as it does compete against some pretty exclusive models and they managed to compile a pretty decent setup for the 2017 version. The cabin uses some 20-way adjustable seats with heating and ventilation. The seats are wrapped in  semi-aniline leather with sueded microfiber and the new design manages to provide plenty of lateral support. Recaro performance seats wrapped in Mulan leather upholstery are available as optional for those who want to do more racing with the model.

The cabin is packed with a lot of soft-touch materials and decorative stitching. You can see it everywhere, on the  steering wheel,  door panels and the shift knob as well. The interior is also offered in a three colored combination which adds Jet Black, Jet Black with Light Platinum accents, and Saffron with Jet Black accents. There are some unique features offered as well and they mean a 12.3-inch instrument cluster with a full-color head-up display, the latest CUE infotainment system which is standard, Siri Eyes Free, a  Bose Surround Sound audio system, wireless inductive phone charging and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and many more.

Engine specs

The engine specs are perhaps the most important part and news about the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V model. What we are excited the most is the usage of a  6.2 liters V-8 engine now used under the hood. Besides being lightweight with some aluminum cylinder heads and titanium intake valves it is also a powerful one as well. Additionally, the 1.9-liter supercharger engine from before has been replaced with a 1.7 liter version which does manage to provide a more efficient output. The specs say that the V8 is able to provide 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque, which is 84 ponies and 79 pound-feet  more than the model before it. The 0-60 mph acceleration is achieved at 3.7 seconds, which makes it pretty close to other matching models in the lineup. Finally, the powertrain is going to combine with a GM’s 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission for better and quicker shifting ability.

New 2017 Cadillac CT6 – Release Date and Info

The new 2017 Cadillac CT6 comes with a compelling value among leading luxury sedans in the market with its responsive and efficient engine, competitive price, generous passenger space, hush cabin, stylish looks, and a commanding presence on the road. Its release date should be expected sometime in the latter half of 2017, according to pundit reports.

Cadillac is perhaps one among the few brands in the market that has been able to offer genuine high-performance credentials, a new design language, and an increasingly competitive lineup over the past decade’s renaissance. And there newest flagship CT6 sedan promises to offer an even more thrilling reputation.

But even so, there are rumors alleging Caddy is in the process of developing an even high-end sedan that will give up nothing to the world’s best. The rumored model might just be what the market has been yawning for, as the CT6 fails to offer the outstanding degree of polish that flagship sedans from Germany are known for. This is well manifested in its ride, construction and material quality.

Don’t get us wrong, though, the CT6 still remains a dream car for many in very many aspects. It is one among the few vehicles in the segment known for high-end engagement, upscale technology, and performance. Cadillac says the new model loses quite a substantial weight as there is extensive use of aluminum metal in its construction. In fact, rumors allege the new CT6 will shed weight by as much as 1,000 lbs. thanks also in part to the clever engineering that inspired its construction.

Fuel economy and a sharper steering feel are just some of the added incentives the diet offers. When we work to its interior, the CT6’s is perhaps Cadillac’s finest work yet. It takes the American interior luxury to a new level through building upon the strong foundation of its outgoing model.

Although you may find it cheaper than the rest of the executive sedans in its segment, the 2017 Cadillac CT6 offers competitive backseat luxuries like massage and power adjustments that you can specify for an extra cost.
