2017 Acura NSX Coupe Release Date & Info

2017 Acura NSX Coupe Release Date, News, Specs – For 2017, the Acura NSX promises a triumphant return for a car that was once an icon in terms of performance and design. It comes with a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and a new hybrid powertrain, an exotic style, and a well-appointed cabin. Its release date hasn’t been released yet, but it will likely be before the spring of 2017.

A first for the NSX coupe includes a V6-powered hybrid rated in excess of 500 horsepower; a dramatic styling and aluminum construction; and a slew of safety features. It has been quite some time now ever since the debut of the NSX during the Detroit Motor Show five years ago. Then again, Acura’s commitment in reviving its halo supercar was initiated by a subsequent Super Bowl commercial starring Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld and a production model finally debuted last year.

Sadly, we won’t be able to see it on the road as the production schedule has been pushed forward. This, according to Acura, has been occasioned by the development delays. But regardless of the setbacks, the 2017 Acura NSX will finally be here.

Due to the added mass of the hybrid and electric components, there was a need by Acura to reduce the NSX curb weight. This has been achieved through extensive use of carbon fiber floor and aluminum steel frame. Although its curb weight hasn’t been announced yet, the NSX is expected to weight around 3,803 pounds – representing about 597 pounds of added weight over the original model.

According to its engineers, the new model will have a lowered center of gravity which inevitably will bode well for steering precision and handling at top speeds. And talking about top speed, the new NSX, according to an official announcement, is expected to hit 191 mph, and a 0-60 mph acceleration in just under 3.0 seconds. The fuel economy test-drives haven’t been conducted yet but we expect the details in the next couple of weeks

Some of its rivals nipping at its heels in terms of the price range include the 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 458 Italia and the Audi R8 V10.

Engine Specs – 2017 Acura NSX

Under the hood of the new 2017 Acura NSX lies several changes and add-ons which is obvious given the time it has been away. It is still powered by a V6 but unlike the outgoing model, the new vehicle comes equipped with a twin-turbocharged, direct injected V6 that mates to a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission system to power the rear wheels.

Augmenting the V6 is a combination of three electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. One of the electric motors provides both initial torque surge and regenerative braking before the turbos get up to full strength. Additionally, they aid in quickening the gearshifts through slowing or spiking engine speeds.

There is also an impressive degree of independence of the front wheels and the rear wheels, this is meant to improve response and handling. Also, there exist no connection between the front wheels and the V6 powerplant.

There has been no announcement from the automaker about the engine specifications as of this writing. But what is known though is that the new V6 working solo should be able to crank out a whopping 500 horsepower. For more details take a look on http://nsx.acura.com/

The changes will be welcome news given the previous model was unchanged over its immediate predecessor. 2017 Acura ILX Release Date, Specs and News

2017 Acura ILX Release Date, Info – At first glance, the Acura ILX for 2017 could just be interpreted to be an obvious choice for anyone shopping in the luxury compact sedan segment. But taking a stroll in the segment will get you the chance to sample out some of the segment’s best. Industry pundits we have engaged with have given us reasons to believe the new ILX will be released August next year.

2017 Acura ILX side view, headlights, alloy wheels

For 2017, the ILX comes with a low base price, a spacious and comfortable rear seat, a sporty driving appeal, and a feature and tech galore. It also gets some few refreshments on its interior and exterior facets, new LED headlights, rear end treatments, additional torque, new safety features, and the base 2.0L engine present in the outgoing model gets discontinued.

2017 Acura ILX side angle, white color

Despite the immense growth curve witnessed in the entry-level compact luxury sedans, the ILX hasn’t given us reasons to believe it is keeping up with the rests of the competition. Not even trying it. In the last couple of years, we have given the ILX not-so-good review due to its lackluster base powertrain and lack of modern safety features, among other things considered significant in a luxury vehicle.

2017 Acura ILX blue color, front view, grille, headlights

Acura has made some strides in trying to overcome the downsides in the 2017 Acura ILX, and we hope to give it the benefit of doubt this time round. To start off, the vehicle will be offering a four-cylinder 2.4L engine that was available as an option in the outgoing model. The six-speed manual transmission that was mated to the engine has also been axed and in its place is an eight-speed automatic. Acura also hopes to impress its existing and new buyers with its range of new safety features.

Furthermore, Acura has further made the ILX appealing through offering it at a lower price than most of its traditional bogeys. Once available, the ILX sedan will go for $27,900.

Nevertheless, plenty of foibles still exists. For example subpar interior materials, unsophisticated ride quality, an unintuitive infotainment system, elevated road noise, and the engine lacks the oomph. Luckily, the segment offers a plethora of alternatives. They include the well-equipped Audi A3, the 2017 Honda Accord, 2017 Mercedes CLA-Class, and the Ford Fusion.

Trims Available – Acura ILX

The 2017 ILX is available in six different trims: Technology Plus package, Premium and A-Spec package, A-Spec package, Premium Package, AcuraWatch Plus package, and the base.

2017 Acura ILX front view, grille, headlights, alloy wheels

The AcuraWatch Plus package gets you road departure mitigation, a lane departure warning system, frontal collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, a forward collision warning system, and adaptive cruise control.

The Premium package adding on what the base model offers comes equipped with driver memory settings, a blind-spot monitoring system, a four-way passenger power seat, HD and satellite radio, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Aha radio smartphone app integration, an 8-inch upper information display, and leather front seats.
