The 2017 Lincoln MKS is an update to the car maker’s luxury sedan series which is being released for the upcoming period. Following the remake of the MKT also comes the refreshed version of the MKS which we will be able to finally see in person at the Los Angeles Show this year. The model has revised a lot of things and added better handling ability, increased the power of the car, improved fuel efficiency and added more refinement with new technology as well.
The exterior of the car has also been talked quite nicely as the Lincoln MKS 2017 has addressed some issues that the previous model has had. With more refined elements comes a new grill, hood design, exhaust tips, refined front fascia, a decklid design and plenty things more.
Also the newest 2017 MKS is going to offer us three different versions based on the used engine. It comes with V6 FWD, V6 AWD, and EcoBoost V6 AWD offered which is going to greatly enhance some of the engine issues the model had before.
With the recent releases of the Audi A6 and the BMW 6-Series models and also the Chrysler 300, the MKS is going to try to remain in the game and offer some resistance to the competing cars. This review will show you all the available specs that the car has been announced with and also help you with the release date news, so keep reading.
The idea behind the exterior design of the 2017 Lincoln MKS is that it is going to incorporate a new contemporary look. The design adds new A-pillar which are actually devised out of a new grille front fascia, HID headlamps and front fenders. The rear end was also refined in the same manner as it features a completely new rear fascia with LED tail lamps, new decklid design and added exhaust tips. It also improves access to the trunk making it a lot easier to store your cargo in it. Offered as well is a set of new 19- or 20-inch aluminum wheels that come as an innovation this year.
As the designers confessed themselves, the original MKS vehicle were designed in an intentionally provocative way. This is why something had to be done in order to update it and make it better for the future installments. The refined and elegant look is what the Lincoln MKS benefits most from as it manages to visually make the front of the car lower and wider. There is a bring surround that links the grille and the headlights which manage to add something great to an already expressive kind of a design.
The interior of the 2017 Lincoln MKS has actually been slightly adjusted and makes way for the future design that are going to come in the future. It actually acts as a sort of a preview as it is much more inviting and engaging now, something that we are going to see more and more in the future releases. The comfort has been optimized by including a number of amenities and equipment parts. It uses heated and cooled 12-way adjustable front seats, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, adjustable pedals, a heated steering wheel and a retractable rear sun shade.
The front side of the car uses the seats both for the passenger and the driver which are multi-contour seats and come with seven computer-controlled air bladders for added comfort. You have four sections in the seat bottom and three in the seat back that help you adjust the seats just the way want them to be. Also the seats are covered with Bridge of Weir leather with French and Deck seams. The former one is mad using a unique organic tanning method, making the leather free of chromium and resulting in an environmentally friendly and fully recyclable leather. There are also newly offered wood and leather colors. The wood ones are Prussian Burl and Brown Swirl Walnut while the added leather color is the Hazelnut and Light Dune.
The latest 2017 Lincoln MKS is going to have a great engine setup. As some have perhaps hoped as there is more time to the release date, there are not going to be any powertrain changes and the model is keeping with the initial offer. This means that the base version is the 3.7-liter V6 engine which comes with twin independent variable camshaft timing and an output of 300 HP. The fuel efficiency is also great and has 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway with the all-wheel-drive model. There is also a more powerful option which is the secondary one, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 delivering 355 HP. Both on the engines are going to use some assisting features like electric power-assisted steering, and improved braking system and Active Park Assist. You can also combine the engines with a six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission or use the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
