The latest news coming from Ford is that they are finally updating their 2017 Ford Galaxy model. The vehicle is going to be a long awaited fourth-generation model as the current third-gen has been on the market since 2006. The model has gone cold in the eyes of the many and is desperately seeking for something new and a redesign that is going to make it fresh and updated for another period of time.
The 2017 model promises to do a lot for the brand and it is actually very interesting the direction that they are taking the model. The exterior look is going to be based strangely on the Ford’s C-Max brand. Although it does not share the same properties as the model does it is going to share the looks and be a bit more modern version of itself. The interior is also getting an updated but it will follow the current production line of some new and regular Ford vehicles.
The Ford Galaxy 2017 is going to have a CD4 platform and the design is going to be based on it for this model. It is a good direction for the car in many people’s opinions and it will provide a great choice for the newest model. The release date has been awaited for a long time already and we are finally getting some information about it. The released pictures were only the introduction to this car finally getting a release and we hope to see it manifest pretty soon. Here is what we were able to find out in our review about the model.
Glimpsing at the released spy photos of the 2017 Ford Galaxy we notice a lot of new things about this new model. First and most obvious thing is that the car is larger than the previous vehicle. The windscreen is also larger than before but the nose on the front of the car sits lower than the previous car had. Thus the current and newest dimensions of the vehicle are going to amount to 187.8 inches long, 74.2 inches wide and stands at 65.4 inches.
The front end also features a remodeled trapezoidal stripe grille which has some laid back LED lights flanking it. The front bumper is also new and has been revised and will feature some new air intakes placed on it in the bottom part while there are some fog lights also placed on the bumper part as well. The back side has been refurbished with some Mondeo-like tail lamps which combines with a more upright redesigned tailgate. The base trim levels are going to use a 16-inch alloy wheel option, while upper trims have a 17-inch alloy wheel option.
The interior of the 2017 Ford Galaxy is not going to be extremely redesigned but will only be tweaked up a bit. Some of the best parts of the car were actually seen on the inside and the interior was always the best part of the Galaxy so it seems almost sane to keep them. Yet leaving things completely intact is what is not going to happen nor should as the refreshing additions enter. The car remains a 7-passenger vehicle and will introduce a three row seating arrangement. The higher trims of the vehicle do get some more quality upholstery but the base one is pretty good as well.
The design of the flash is going to adopt a new flat-top look which is going to be less sporty than the outgoing model. There are many soft touch surfaces all around the car and seats are going to be power adjustable while the steering wheel is also redesigned as well. A touchscreen is going to make it inside with navigation, but it does not come as a standard offer and will be available on some higher trims.
The spacing is ample and there is an expansion made to the cargo space area. It will feature an upgrade as it adds folding rear seats that you can move and fold in order to provide more space for the large cargo that you are carrying with you. The 8-speaker acoustic system comes as standard and there are plenty of connectivity devices available in the car also.

The latest indication about the potential powertrain of the 2017 Ford Galaxy is that it is going to have a diesel engine offered and two petrol ones. The diesel engine is a 2.0 L, 4-cylinder TDCI model which is capable of making 162 hp. The first petrol offer is the 1.5 L, 4-cylinder EcoBoost that makes 160 hp, but the second gasoline base engine is a bit more powerful as the 180 hp 2.0 L, 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine is being used. All three of the engine variants are going to be offered with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission system that sends the power to the front wheels. An AWD system has not been confirmed this time and may be known as the release date comes closer.
