These segment is well known for its many talents including but not limited to plenty of utility and to some extent – towing. Be it loading up goods from Costco, taking your lovely angels to school, or going on a ski trip. Conspicuously missing and often the main cause of dissatisfaction is a sense of fun.

But not anymore, with the redesigned 2017 Ford Escape, you won’t be forced to look elsewhere as it comes with all the amenities necessary to offer you a spirited driving. It drives and feels like the Ford Focus to some extent as it shares most of its mechanical underpinnings with it. This therefore means you get respectable fuel economy ratings, a super cool front sensor, an optional AWD, and one of the best acceleration in its class.

However, we are a bit concerned about its limited interior room relative to its competitors, missing cabin storage cubbies, and a finicky base control layout. Otherwise, the Escape comes chock full of desirable features and tech list.

However, it is always imperative to check out other alternatives before ultimately deciding on one vehicle. As such, you should check out the 2017 Mazda CX-5 model – offers most of the Escape’s capabilities but offers an updated infotainment system. But if you are looking for something extra, both the “A” rated 2017 Toyota RAV4, and 2017 Honda CR-V are great options. And unlike the Escape, they offer a spacious cabin and cargo spaces, are exceptionally easy to drive, and offer plenty of customization.
