2017 BMW 5 Series – Release Date, Review and Specs

2017 BMW 5 Series Review

The new 2017 BMW 5 Series remains a smart choice for a midsize luxury sedan with its superb engines, high-tech galore, comfortable and composed ride quality, and impressive fuel economy. However, some rivals might be better on certain areas. Its release date should be expected sometime in the 2nd Q of 2017, as per recent online reports.

Even after several years on the market, the current-generation BMW 5 Series remains classically handsome. The redesigned model comes in a market laden with fresher rivals that offer some of the latest bells and whistles imaginable. And for those who are willing to “sacrifice” getting a fresher model for the BMW 5 Series, will make no mistake as the new model is tremendously updated and hosts plenty of upscale tech features and materials as is the tradition with BMW’s high-end models.

It’s a big, comfy, and impeccably refined sedan with an emphasis on luxury rather than sport. Since its debut five years ago, the existing generation of the model is dissimilar from the hallowed models that preceded it. It comes with a spacious cabin fitted with soft-toch surfaces, a technology galore and relativley significant convenience, and comfort features, although it doesn’t feature the expected degree of handling precision and engagement that driving enthusiasts might want.

BMW says you the latest five Series can zoom past the 60 mph mark in just under 6.0 seconds with the 535d trim model. Respectable fuel economy, which has been a defining trait for the Series, are offered by the 535i and 550i models projected at 30 mpg in combined mode.

Nitpicking has however painted a grim picture for those who’d like to purchase one for themselves. Drawbacks include a ho-hum handling, an intrusive auto-stop system, and a relatively small truck relative to its competition. For those who find the faults too much to live with, there are some couple of desirable options the segment offers.

They include the elegantly sporty 2017 Cadillac CTS, the impressively crafted, and capable 2017 Lexus GS 350, the luxury-laden 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan stalwart, and the sharper-handling 2017 Audi A6. Others include the 2017 Maserati Ghibli, and the 2017 Jaguar XF. Even so, the new 2017 5 Series remains an perfect option in many spheres.
