2017 Acura RDX Release Date, Review – A strong yet fuel-efficient V6, competitive price, a generous feature list, an outstanding rear legroom, and a high rear seat make the new 2017 Acura RDX a solid choice for a premium small crossover. Its date of release, price, interior and exterior changes, and engines specifications are covered below, so keep reading on.
The first generation model that bounded into the scene was a high-tech wonder and boasted of a sophisticated all-wheel drive and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, the feature galore didn’t resonate well as Acura had hoped for. This resulted in the automaker redesigning the vehicle into a more conventional small luxury SUV.
With the changes in place, the new RDX then garnered quite a substantial fanatic following and is still a great choice for buyers shopping in its class to date. Part of the changes Acura has infused inside and out include an updated infotainment system, and a new color addition to the existing color palette.
A slew of safety features has also been factored in. they include the adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning system, lane departure warning and intervention, and blind-spot monitoring. Besides this, under its skin lies a fuel-efficient 3.5L V6 engine rated at an impressive 23 mpg/combined.
Interior wise, the cabin offers comfortable and supportive seats and with its long list of standard features and technologies, the Acura RDX is set for a major global success. There are, however, several setbacks to owning an RDX such as a distractive touchscreen interface, and lack of a sporty appeal.
Therefore, it would be prudent to check what the competition offers. For a more prestigious and sporty drive, the 2017 Porsche Macan, the 2017 BMW X3 & X1 are solid choices you should consider. For multiple engine choices, which the RDX disappoints on, you can check out the 2017 Lexus NX 300h, or the 2017 Audi Q5.
The 2017 Volvo XC60 is also another rival which provides a more spacious and classy cabin. Even so, the 2017 Acura RDX is still a well-rounded vehicle that gets most of the things right.
